Discover: Works inspired by found objects – Garland magazine

The visual arts and crafts online magazine Garland has an exhibition at the moment presenting one of my necklaces. The theme of the works presented by various visual artists is « Discover: Works inspired by found objects ».

Encounters, 2015, eucalyptus pods, sea polished domestic ceramic chards, linen threads, sterling silver finding
Of my necklace I say: The juxtaposition of finds from beachcombing and “bushcombing”—of European migrants’ domestic ceramic chards polished by the Indian Ocean and of indigenous eucalyptus tree pods—symbolise the encounters between the early European settlers and the Noongar people.
